This free event is designed to celebrate urban visual culture, teach practical skills, and encourage participants to explore their artistic potential in a supportive environment. The workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of graffiti techniques while promoting creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.
The program begins at 1:00 PM with a welcome and introduction session, where attendees are briefed on the history of graffiti, its cultural significance, and safety protocols for materials and spaces. Experienced graffiti artists will present examples of iconic graffiti styles and discuss the principles of composition, color, and design. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences and ideas, fostering an interactive learning environment from the start.
At 1:45 PM, the hands-on workshop segment begins. Participants will be provided with spray paints, markers, and other tools to practice various graffiti techniques. Attendees can experiment with different styles, create small practice pieces, and receive personalized guidance. From 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, participants will collaborate on a large mural project within the association’s premises. This collaborative exercise fosters teamwork, communication, and creative negotiation while encouraging participants to learn from each other’s techniques and perspectives.
At 4:30 PM, a gallery walk and critique session takes place. Participants showcase their individual and collaborative pieces, receive constructive feedback from instructors, and discuss the artistic choices they made during the workshop. This segment emphasizes reflection, learning, and appreciation of diverse creative approaches.
The workshop concludes at 5:30 PM with a community sharing session, where participants are invited to discuss how they can continue developing their skills, participate in future projects, and engage with urban art initiatives in Brest.
